Assignments View

The assignment view shows all assignments across all of the teams.

This view provides a quick way to track the status of resources joining or leaving the project. This view also ensures that the total number of people expected to be in a team are accurate and join or leave in a planned fashion.

The following information describes an assignment:

• Team
• Resource
• Job / Role
• Type
• Status
• Start Date
• Finish Date

Assignments are generally used at a management level to assign resources to teams for a longer period of time. This generally represents a firm commitment of an assignment of a resource to a team (contract or permanent). The timephased resource information would generally describe the level of the assignment.

Resources can also be assigned to activities. This is done on the Product Based Planning View in the Project Activities Table.
